I haven’t cooked myself pasta in ages… and this 15-minute salmon, courgette & tomato pasta is what finally broke the dry spell 😂🍝
A super easy pasta recipe with a handful of ingredients, very little effort and one little ingredient that makes ALL the difference; lemon zest 🍋
Sometimes you forget that cooking yourself something bloody delicious doesn’t need loads of time or ingredients. A little love goes a long way.
Salmon, courgette & tomato pasta
Fry garlic in olive oil, then add thinly sliced courgette and cook until softened.
Add a tin of tomatoes — @muttipomodorouk polpa is my favourite; season and leave the sauce to cook down while you boil your pasta water.
Cook your pasta (I love linguine or spaghetti for this because the tomato sauce clings to it beautifully).
For the last 4 minutes, add your chopped salmon and lemon zest to the sauce. That little bit of zest completely lifts the whole dish.
Drain the pasta and toss it straight into the sauce with a splash of pasta water until everything becomes lovely, creamy and glossy.
Finish with plenty of black pepper and fresh basil if you have some.
15 minutes. A handful of ingredients. A proper bowl of pasta.
Sometimes that’s all you need ❤️

When did food shopping become so antisocial? 😅
More and more in the UK, I walk into a supermarket and there are barely any tills with an actual person behind them.
Scan your own shopping. Pay. Leave.
Efficient? Absolutely.
But after spending so much time in Italy, I’ve realised how much I value those tiny everyday interactions; saying buongiorno, having a little chat, recognising the person behind the counter. Nothing profound. Just… human connection.
And I do wonder if, in our obsession with making everything quicker and more convenient, we’re slowly removing those little moments from everyday life.
Technology can make our lives easier, help us work smarter and give us more time.
But surely the point should be to give us more time to be human, not replace the human bit altogether.
Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I don’t want a completely frictionless life if it means never having to speak to another person.
Am I alone on this one? 👀

Sardinian food was NOT what I expected… 🇮🇹
And I mean that in the best possible way.
I’ve eaten my way around a fair bit of Italy, but Sardinia really reminded me just how regional Italian food is. Different pasta, different traditions, loads of seafood — and some dishes I’d never eaten before.
A few standouts from our road trip:
📍 Da Mirko — Alghero
Fregola con frutti di mare — tiny balls of Sardinian pasta cooked with mussels, seafood and all those gorgeous juices.
📍 Ristorante Lina — Stintino
Pesce alla griglia — beautifully fresh local fish and seafood, simply grilled. Nothing fancy needed.
📍 Trattoria Sa Nassa — Bosa
Lorighittas con ragù di polpo — hand-twisted Sardinian pasta with octopus ragù. One of my favourite discoveries of the trip.
📍 L’Assassino — Sassari
A proper Sardinian Sunday lunch — lots of dishes, lots of eating and exactly my kind of Sunday 😂
It’s why I always say there isn’t really one “Italian cuisine”. Travel from region to region and you discover a completely different food culture.
And Sardinia? I clearly have a LOT more research to do 😂
Have you eaten Sardinian food before? What surprised you?

Anyone else feel like they’re learning how to dress themselves all over again in their 40s? 🙋🏻‍♀️
Perimenopause has definitely changed my body, and there are days when getting dressed feels VERY different to how it used to.
But I still bloody love clothes. I still want to feel sexy, colourful, confident and like ME and I’m definitely not planning on disappearing into a sensible wardrobe just because I’m 45 😂
These @fairliecurved outfits came to Italy with me and I loved how I felt in them. Not because they were hiding anything, but because I could put them on, feel good and get on with enjoying myself.
I’m curious though, has the way you dress changed as you’ve got older, or are you still figuring it out too?

What happens when my Italian side gets involved with a British bacon sandwich? 🇬🇧🇮🇹😂
You get crispy bacon, tomatoes, rocket, avocado and a squeeze of lemon, all wrapped up in a @crostamollica piadina.
Is it traditional? Absolutely not.
Is it bloody delicious? YES.
This is basically how I cook most of the time, taking the food I grew up with and letting all the different parts of me get involved.
And quite frankly, I think this bacon situation is delicious.
Would you eat this?
